My Discoveries

Hi all,

So here it goes, a breif description of my previous 6-7 months stay at IIIT Hyderabad. The life goes on, you are born, become a child soon and then an adult and then a man and then an old man. You come across things which you would have never imagined and then you come across things which you have know are bound to happen. You always think that what you are doing is RIGHT but if you re-think and re-think again the opinion changes. Well it was quite a period of controversies for me where I had to face people who I expected to be so and then there were people whom I didn’t . Enough of philosophy I guess, so lets start. Well nice not “Light” 3rd sem finally ended and then the Big 4th Sem. Well it all started with Batch Trip, things didn’t go off well to be honest. I guess the decisions which I took were not the way they should have been. As rightly pointed out by one of my friend “WITH EVERY JOB COMES RESPONSIBILITY”. After Batch trip things got worsened with every possible way they could have. I didn’t feel like doing anything and then Batch Carnival didn’t also go on which was planned next week after the Batch Trip. Things then did ease out with time. Finally things went on well and due to Vidit’s hardwork we finally managed to get Batch T Shirts. Now it’s time for Felicity ‘08. I guess there have been few fallacies there but an exceptional Code Craft whose credit goes entirely to Anshuman Singh, Ajay Somani and Gaurav have really set it up for a good Felicity around. Finally I would like to mention some things :

1. Firstly when you are doing a thing it’s important to know the exact reason.

2. Secondly, If two people don’t go hand in hand , that doesn’t mean one of then is good and other is bad. It’s total lack of miscommunication and nothing else.

3. Thirdly everything is possible doesn’t matter how big it is. Hardwork is the key to success.

I would like to thank all those people who have been around me during bad time, supporting me when I needed it most . I would also like to thank those people who have pointed out wrong things in me and have given a chance, to improve .

Well quite a time , anyways this post is somewhat describing what has happened in the past one and a half month with me and of course with people around me. Well to start, had a fine second mid sem exam, to be honest better than the first mid sem. Then came the IHCT, a nice one for my team not so for me. Still think Vayu could have won the finals. Anyways, I still have somethings cherish, Sagar( Batchmate) still find him the best batsman of IIIT-H and ofcourse Vayu second in this tournament. Hope I can overtake him some day…lollllll. Then came the Carnival, postponed twice. Hope we do it much better next time, i.e next sem, Keeping my fingers crossed though. Thanks to all the people for showing so much of interest in the organizing the Carnival , especially Anushray, Anshuman, Gaurav, Sid, Gagan and Sanrag for taking the initiative of organizing technical events for the first time in a carnival. Hope we carry the same spirit to Felicity ‘09. Then the OS assignment (System Call) ….Don’t want to say much more. Then of course Ug2K6 forum…….. something different , planning to make it more disciplined next sem though . I and sid have also made a Website for Robotics Fest. Hope it goes off well…

Other plans are also there , one is Ug2K6 funds and other is a Batch Get together. Both for different purposes of course. Nice to see “Sethia” showing interest in being the member of Lab Committee. One thing’ s for sure, “Politics” is now somewhat getting lesser and lesser, something great for the batch. A bit of description about people in Ug2K6:

1. Amlendu Mishra: Find him responsible when given a Job. Innovative, not sincere(please be so when I write my next post, will be very happy).

2. Shivam urf Chotte: Find him the most sincere person in Ug2k6. Perfectionist to say the least.

3. PJn, P. Sethia, Lav, Shubham (Jadu), Vijay(Guru): Very Sincere, Hard Working …… Vijay, a bit irritating at times but something which you will still Njoy. PJn, No comments lol…. Jadu and Lav Gud, greattttttt

4. Siddharth : Rate him the best person in Ug2k6. Very intelligent. Searches almost everything, you can think of……….

5. Mukund, Syed, Animesh: Keep the forum quite active: Around 800 post in 4 days ……..greatttt….

6. Himanshu Sharma (Razor) and Anushray Gupta: No comments

7. Rest all gr88888888……..

Remaining people next time….

Wat else, end Sems approaching, and one thing for sure OS Sucks …….Planning to write my next research paper soon. Some of us have also though about innovative projects, hope we start it by next sem. And ya one thing more, wait for our “Band Songs” when you return from Holidays..

Have Fun !!!

Well, finally I got time to write one of the most unusual experiences I have ever had. Well it all started with my poor performances in the 1st mid sem. I came here to improve and then…….

Then was the turn of ITWS3 registrations. The project we did in Summer was about to be tested by 150 students. Nervous na ……….

The portal started at 7 in the evening for the registrations and it sucked. There was a BuG………

Oops, I lost my team lost . Well, we send a mail to ug2 telling that the registrations have been cancelled and they will start at exactly 8 . When things start to go wrong, they do so in numbers. At the same time after I had send a mail for starting the registrations, one of the TA’s send a mail announcing the cancellations of registration for that day. Oh my god !!!

And then ….

I got around 70 mails regarding fairness of allocation of Projects ( Guess they were absolutely right). But then people started sending messages which I didn’t expect at all ( won’t mention here though).

We sat together, had a discussion about allocation and then came up with a new method where there would be a group leader who would register for his team.

It took us almost 7 hours to update the portal and then we had a dry run. Then came the next day, the registration day, to be honest I was very nervous, more than the people who were registering. The registration again started at 8 in the evening. Everything was going fine till something which shouldn’t have happened at all happened.

One of my friend found a Bug in the portal and it was a huge bug.

Huh ….things went misereably after that. I cried, had a fight and what not. And then the most unfortunate thing happened, Forum.

It was a pure shit by Ug2k6. A batch which I loved so much, I started hating it. Well the posts by the people were awful. Kept on blaming the admin. I wrote a mail to one of the person and he posted it on forum.

The next day was bit better. But I seriously went over all the things. I one thing I decided for sure, that I wouldn’t be the CR again. Second thing was that I wouldn’t participate in anything Ug2K6 organizes.

Guess life has become quite peaceful after that. I love myself.

Guess I now an more happy. I have started thinking about myself more. Just want to concentrate on this sem .

And one more thing, I got a paper accepted in an International Journal (HS Rocks).

I now am seriously looking myself. But there are something I would really like to suggest ….

1) People should be responsible for themselves.

2) Out of the 180 people in Ug2, 100 are politicians ( Quite a mark even though in the other sense)

3) I hope that Ug2k6 really breaks all the records in IIIT. I hope they successfully organize Carnival and Felicity ‘09.

4) Hope we get a gud coordinator and a strong team….

Well this is what I had to write , I hope the very best to Ug2K6…..

I know it’s a very unusual topic to start, but then I have promised to be different ….lol …

Pankaj Anthwal for me did something for Ug2K6 which I guess no one in whole IIIT-H has the courage to do it. I still remember those early days of my college when I didn’t have anyone to tell about my problems, my desires Pankaj Anthwal came as a man who really came out as a man whom I could share this all. To be honest I’m not comfortable with ragging and I can challenge that no one can be, because no one likes humiliation …. I guess …… Pankaj Anthwal for me is a guy whom I really would like to be. He made me think that if something is wrong, then don’t accept it, change it and then Njoy…

Pankaj Sir, you really deserve to be called a Sir, Hats off to you !!! for what you have done for us !!!

Waiting for Comments (Specially from Ug2k6 batch )…

Well this is my first Post and I’m trying to be as different as possible and I know I’m different , Just Kidding … I have been thinking of Blogging for the past 8 months and finally I’m here writing my 1st Post !!!This is partially due to the fact that I’m a “Bit” Lazy and partly because of the busy 1st Year at IIIT Hyderabad. Well I’m on this because I want people to know me more and of course the Vice-versa. I want people to know what I have discovered in the Last 8 months at IIIT Hyderabad. I want people to comment on these discoveries, answers to queries which have arisen because of these discoveries…. I’ll also be writing on relationships which I’ve experienced so far ….
